Learning never exhausts the mind

By

No less than two hours after passing my CBT I was in Fowler's showroom picking out a new motorbike for myself. Having sat on quite a few bikes in showrooms and events I already knew which one I wanted to start with so I pretty much went in and said: "I want that one".

So now I am the owner of a brand new Yamaha YZF R125 in 2010 Power Black. Unfortunately, the bike isn't released until later on in the month so I am going to have to wait until June for it.

This bike is a 125cc learner legal sports bike in the same family as the R6 and R1 and styled the same. It has a Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single cylinder, SOHC engine which is tuned to 11kW (14.7 bhp) the legal limit for learner bikes. Like the R1, the R125 features a lightweight Deltabox frame linked to a cast aluminium swinging arm.

Update 18th May: Just had a call from Fowlers to say that my bike is in and should be ready for collection on May 26th  :)  Way ahead of schedule, so now I'm going to have to go out and get all my riding gear this weekend. I was hoping to get another pay slip before then.

This bit from the owners manual made me chuckle -

It's a 125cc learner legal motorcycle! How on earth is it going to do super high speeds???
