List of .Net Culture and Country Codes

Published July 28, 2010 by Tim Trott

A comprehensive list of ISO .net culture codes and country codes used for localising .Net applications in conjunction with the CultureInfo class. Culture codes are also used throughout the Windows operating system for defining regional settings.

The CultureInfo class specifies a unique name for each culture, based on RFC 4646 (Windows Vista and later). The name is a combination of an ISO 639 two-letter lowercase culture code associated with a language and an ISO 3166 two-letter uppercase subculture code associated with a country or region.

    Can you all the culture for Papua New Guinea? I am developer in Papua new Guinea and do not want to re-invent the wheel. If there is a culture for this country, can you add to the list? Thanks.

    The iso country codes are all lower case. I think its important that that is reflected in the table.

    Something that'd be nice too is the dialing code for each country :)

      Kirdish does not seem to be supported in .Net framework from what I can see.

      CultureInfo and country codes are OS dependant, so to find if it is supported on your version of OS you can try the code snippet in one of the previous comments where I provide the method for listing Culture Codes and Country Codes.

      No not at all, it was just a typo which put Iran at the bottom of the list when sorted. It is now corrected.

    how can I do it through coding to get the list of culture info available.

      On Tuesday 30th of July 2013, Lonewolf Online  Post Author replied

      This is what I used:

      CultureInfo[] cinfo = CultureInfo.GetCultures(CultureTypes.AllCultures & ~CultureTypes.NeutralCultures);

      foreach (CultureInfo cul in cinfo)
      {
      RegionInfo ri = null;

        try
        {
      ri = new RegionInfo(cul.Name);

      string TwoLetterISORegionName = ri.TwoLetterISORegionName;
      string ThreeLetterISORegionName = ri.ThreeLetterISORegionName;
      string TwoLetterISOLanguageName = cul.TwoLetterISOLanguageName;
      string ThreeLetterISOLanguageName = cul.ThreeLetterISOLanguageName;
      string RegionName = cul.Name;
        }
        catch
        {
      continue;
        }

      }

      Hope that helps
      Tim

      I don't have this in a SQL file, but you can easily copy the table to Excel and import it through SQL Server Management Studio.

      Hope that helps
